We humans appear to be hard-wired to find meaning in virtually everything in our lives, from the minute and mundane to the cosmic and boundless. But given that meaning seems to be a subjective kind of experience, could it be that it is entirely a product of the mind? Even if there is broad agreement on the meaning of some common experience, is it necessarily the case that the experience contained the meaning in and of itself? If one lone person declares a different meaning for something that everyone else seems to agree about, is that person wrong? Or mad? In this episode, we look at the concept of meaning in some detail.
