Humans have an almost universal tendency to keep certain things very private. You may not like a quality or characteristic that you were born with. It may have triggered strong negative feedback from important people earlier in your life, so you do your best to keep those things hidden away. Or maybe you experienced something in your life that caused so much shame or other emotional pain that you’ve simply decided not to reveal it to anyone. Unfortunately, the secrets we keep tend to take on an energy of their own, and sometimes that energy can have negative consequences on our health and well-being.
