If you listen to a conversation between almost any two people, you will probably observe communication techniques that are far from optimal. People often avoid taking full responsibility for themselves and project a lot of their experience on others. This leads to a situation in which one or both parties in the conversation become disempowered. From that place of disempowerment, triggers can easily occur, leading to defensive, reactive, and argumentative posturing. In this episode, we look at a few ways to reduce or eliminate these problems through the use of self-responsible, first-person communication.
